BlinkBoard is an innovative assistive communication app that enables users to spell out words and speak sentences using intentional eye blinks detected by iOS devices with TrueDepth cameras.
Using two types of blinks - long blinks and super long blinks - users can navigate through consonants and vowels, select individual letters as they flash on screen, and build complete sentences for text-to-speech output.
The app features intelligent letter selection timing and intuitive navigation designed for comfortable use. All processing happens locally on your device with complete privacy protection.

This End-User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legally binding agreement between you and BlinkBoard LLC ("BlinkBoard," "we," "us"), a Wyoming limited liability company, that governs your use of the BlinkBoard mobile application and any related services (collectively, the "Application").

The act of accepting this EULA, whether by tapping a button or using the Application's blink-based interface, constitutes acceptance by both the Caregiver and the Communicator. Both parties are individually and collectively bound by this agreement.
BlinkBoard grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the Application on a device that you own or control for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to the terms of this EULA.

Ensuring the Communicator has provided informed consent to use the Application
Properly positioning the device and ensuring a safe environment
Monitoring the Communicator for signs of fatigue, discomfort, or distress and discontinuing use if they occur

This license is non-exclusive and royalty-free and exists only while the Application is in use. We have no right to access, view, transmit, or store your User Content.
5.3. Third-Party Materials: The Application incorporates several Apple frameworks and technologies that are licensed under Apple's Software License Agreement for iOS. These include:
(a) ARKit framework for face tracking and blink detection, which processes facial geometry data locally on your device
(b) AVFoundation framework for text-to-speech functionality using Apple's built-in system voices
(c) SwiftUI, SceneKit, and Combine frameworks for user interface and app functionality
(d) Apple's iOS audio processing systems for generating audio feedback and speech synthesis
Your use of these Apple technologies is governed by Apple's iOS Software License Agreement, which you accepted when activating your iOS device. You are prohibited from extracting, reverse-engineering, or using these Apple frameworks outside of the Application's intended functionality. All processing using these technologies occurs locally on your device and no data is transmitted to Apple or any third party through the Application's use of these frameworks.

BlinkBoard was designed from the ground up with privacy as its core principle. We believe that what a person communicates is their most sensitive personal data, and they have an absolute right to privacy. Our commitment is to protect the privacy and dignity of every user. By accepting this Privacy Policy, both the Caregiver and the Communicator (collectively "the End-Users") indicate their understanding and acceptance. Each party constitutes an End-User under this agreement and is covered by these privacy protections.
The BlinkBoard Application does NOT collect, store, transmit, share, or sell any of your data. This includes:
No Personal Information: We do not collect your name, email, or any other personally identifiable information
No Communication Content: We never access, record, or transmit anything you type or communicate
No Biometric or Camera Data: We do not collect, store, or transmit any images, videos, facial geometry, or biometric data from your device's camera
No Usage Data: We do not collect analytics, usage statistics, or track your behavior within the app
All processing required for the Application to function happens exclusively and locally on your device in real-time. No data ever leaves your device.
The Application requests permission to use your device's front-facing camera for one purpose only: to detect eye blinks in real-time to enable communication. This process occurs entirely on your device using its built-in processing capabilities (e.g., Apple's ARKit). All camera data is processed in your device's temporary memory and is immediately discarded. No images, videos, or facial data are ever saved, stored, or transmitted off the device.
All content you create, including sentences and custom settings, is stored only locally on your device's active memory during your session. This data is not saved to device storage, is not backed up to any cloud service (like iCloud or Dropbox), and is automatically cleared when the app is closed.
We recognize that this Application will be used by children under the age of 13. The Application is fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Because we collect absolutely no personal information from any user, we inherently meet COPPA's requirements for protecting children's data. The responsibility for obtaining parental or guardian consent is for the use of the Application as a communication tool, not for data collection, as none occurs.
The Application is designed to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) through the principles of "data protection by design and by default." By not collecting, processing, or storing any personal data, we ensure the highest level of protection for our users in the European Union and worldwide.
The Application does not integrate with any third-party services. There are no analytics or tracking services, advertising networks, social media platforms, or external databases connected to the Application. Your privacy is completely protected from external data collection.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at contact@BlinkBoard.tech.
